Credit Score below 650
To have a credit score below 650, you are making life a little more difficult for yourself and maybe a bit more expensive. The truth is a 650 is far below the good or even excellent credit score range. Some would even place it is the poor range. The reason is the high risk your are perceived to have for a lender.
In the past few year having a credit score below 650 was nothing to be all that concerned with. Sure, you were not getting the best rates on interest, but you were more than likely getting approved for things like a car loan or maybe a mortgage. Today, as you might of heard, lending practices have changed. You no longer with a credit score below 650 think you will get approved for a loan. Chances are you might not.
So what do you do if you have a credit score below 650? You start focusing on what you can do every day to rebuild your credit. That could be controlling your spending and pay down your debt. Or it might be as simple as paying your bills on time. It is tough to say because it really depends on your credit history.
A good way to start is to check your credit report and start seeing in what areas you are struggling. Chances are you will find them right away. You should always consider living on a budget and commit to sitting down each month to one.
Another point to consider is the fact we are not completely through this credit crisis and lenders only want to give thier money to safe bets. And if you have a credit score below 650, you could be seen an alright bet this month and a bad bet next month. So do whatever you can to improve.
